Day 1: Arrive in Gangtok

  • Travel down to Gangtok via Bangdogra/NJP station

  • Explore MG Marg

Day 2: Half-Day Sightseeing in Gangtok

  • Wake up and relish a warm bowl of thukpa. Afterwards explore
  • Rumtek Monastery
  • Hanuman Tok
  • Tashi View Point
  • BanJhakri Falls

Save up your energy for the rest of the day by chilling at a cafe.
Tip: Book a shared cab for your North Sikkim tour positively on Day 2 and also apply for a permit via a local travel agency.

Day 3: Tsomgo Lake, Baba Harbhajan Mandir & Nathula Pass Tour

  • On day 3 travel to high-altitude Tsomgo lake
  • If you have time you can also visit Kyongnosla Alpine Sanctuary
  • Afterwards head to Baba Harbhajan Mandir
  • Nathula Pass tour (optional)

Tip: Carry warm clothes (jackets, muffler, beanie, etc) even in summer.
Nathu la pass permit depends on availability, nationality, and weather conditions.

Day 4: Gangtok to Lachen

  • Get in your shared cab and enjoy the scenic route from Gangtok to Lachen. You will see
  • Seven Sister Waterfalls
  • Teesta viewpoints
  • Little eateries in the mountain
  • You will find a suitable homestay in Lachen but if you are travelling in peak season it’s better to make an advance booking.

Travel Tip: This will be a long drive via road so make sure to wear comfortable clothes and carry a neck pillow. The scenery is stunning for instagram-worthy pictures. The network and internet connection can be wonky.

Day 5: Visit Gurudongmar Lake in a Shared Cab

  • Explore one of the highest lakes in the world: Gurudongmar Lake
  • The scenery here is unmatched, raw, and beautiful.
  • Once Gurudongmar Lake is complete, continue your journey towards Lachung.

Travel Tip: The altitude is extremely high so make sure to acclimatise well
Do not consume alcohol the previous night.
Make sure to stay hydrated.

Day 6: Yumthang Valley (Optional: Zero Point) & Return to Gangtok

  • Explore the beautiful valley of flowers: Yumthang valley
  • Depending on the weather you will see either blooming flowers – petunia, primrose, primulas, orchids and more or you will see patches of snow covering the valley.
  • Optional tour to the last civilian point – Zero point (after that international borders start).

Travel Tip: Post Gangtok return, eat and rest well. Your body deserves complete rest after this long, tiring, and beautiful journey.

Day 7: Gangtok – Ravangla

  • The adventure continues with a trip to Ravangla.
  • Find a place to stay (preferably a boutique hotel).
  • Go and explore the following:
  • Buddha Park
  • Temi Tea Garden

Return to the hotel and relax for a while

Day 8: Ravangla to Pelling

  • Continuing your Sikkim solo journey, travel from Ravangla to Pelling in a private cab or a shared cab.
  • Check in your accommodation and enjoy a meal.
  • Explore the following:
  • Pelling Skywalk
  • Pemayangste Monastery

Must See: If the weather is clear, watch the sunrise views of Kanchejunga range.

Day 9: Sightseeing Around Pelling

  • Enjoy your meal at the accommodation and begin exploring the sights of Pelling.
  • Explore Khechelopari Lake (a wish fulfilling lake)
  • Rimbi Waterfalls

Travel Tip: Give yourself a break and enjoy the scenery. Do nothing and chill on your last day of sightseeing in Sikkim.

Day 10: Return to Bagdogra/NJP

  • Wake up and have breakfast.
  • Pack your bags and depart for Bagdogra Airport/ NJP station.
